Help: how to read Metio's figures

This page explains how to interpret the data on Metio's price pages and provides answers to common questions about our methodology and services.

How to read the figures

Median

For each provider, we calculate the median of its «from» prices converted to euros at the official exchange rate. We then find the median across all providers. This means half of the providers' prices are below this figure and half are above. A median is not an average.

p25–p75 range

This range shows that a quarter of the providers' prices are below the lower figure and a quarter are above the upper figure. The middle half of the providers fall between these two values.

Providers with a price

This figure indicates how many clinics or independent professionals published a price for that specific treatment in that country. The pages also specify the number of clinics and the number of independent professionals offering the treatment.

Sources with prices

This number represents how many different websites were used to collect the prices for the treatment.

Original currencies

These are the currencies in which the prices were originally published before they were converted to euros using official exchange rates.

Date of the data

This is the date on which the figures were calculated. Figures are updated every week, and a page is updated only when one of its figures changes noticeably.

Procedure and package prices

A procedure price refers to the procedure alone. A package price includes the procedure and additional services, such as a hotel, transfers, a crown, an abutment, several units, or a full arch. These two types of prices are never mixed in a single figure.
